All of our meat items are shipped in vacuum-sealed packaging. This is to preserve the delicious flavor of our products and to ensure that our products reach you at their freshest.

If upon arrival the packaging has lost its seal or appears loose, discard the plastic packaging and refrigerate the meat immediately. Please call us at 888-624-6426 for further instructions.

It’s easy! A conventional oven is the preferred method for heating our fully cooked hams and turkeys. Preheat your oven to 325° and then heat your smoked ham or turkey for 10 minutes per pound. Your products will ship to you in vacuum-sealed packages. These intact vacuum-sealed packages of jerky will store best at room temperature. Once you have opened your jerky or dried sausage (or if the package has lost its seal), we recommend refrigerating your meat to extend product freshness.

Yes. Landjager, Hot Sticks, Cowboy Jerky and Indian Jerky require refrigeration upon arrival. The Landjager and Hot Sticks will store best when refrigerated in a brown paper bag.

These are natural salt deposits or fat surfacing on the meat. They are entirely normal and safe to eat.

No matter how well it is stored, jerky will eventually become dry, brittle, lose flavor or grow mold — depending on the length of storage time and what type of environment the product is stored in. It is, after all, a perishable item! Therefore, we highly recommend that you consume your jerky within a reasonable amount of time. We recommend enjoying your Mahogany Smoked Meats product within 30 days of shipment.

No. Unfortunately, we will not guarantee the flavor, texture, or product freshness of our jerky after 30 days of your shipment. Be sure to finish your product within 30 days of shipment to enjoy the full Mahogany Smoked Meats experience. Thank you for understanding

Your unopened Mahogany Smoked Meats products will remain delicious in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
We do not recommend that you refrigerate our meat products for longer than 14 days. Additionally, our smoked cheese may be refrigerated for up to three months. Our smoked fish may be refrigerated for two days, once opened.

Yes. All of our smoked meat products may be frozen for up to six months.

At Mahogany Smoked Meats, we will do whatever it takes to make an order right. If you experience any type of problem with one of our quality products, please contact us at 888-624-6426 (or 760-873-5311) within seven days of receiving your order. We will either exchange your product or issue a refund.
